Currency API

Automate exchange rate conversion with our currency data.

We provide customers with accurate and up-to-date currency data for making informed decisions in the global financial market, including Gold, Silver and Special Drawing Rights. Our reliable exchange rate data assist businesses in confidently managing foreign transactions, investments and risks. Please note we do not offer exchange services or facilitate fund transfers.

We structured our API around the following primitives. Understanding the relationships between these primitives will be helpful as you onboard to the API:

  • Currencies Data: The highest level API Primitive. The primitive lists supported currencies and their associated metadata, such as currency code, currency name, and possibly the country or region. The data returned by this primitive helps users understand which currencies are available for historical data retrieval and conversion operations within the API.

  • Historical Data: The primitive allows users to retrieve historical exchange rate data for a specific currency with a particular date. It is helpful for customers interested in analyzing currency trends over time, performing backtesting, or generating financial reports.

  • Convert: The primitive enables users to convert an amount from one currency to another, utilizing the latest exchange rate data. Customers can input the base currency, target currency, and the amount they want to convert. The API will return the converted amount. This primitive is particularly useful for customers who need real-time currency conversion functionality for various purposes, such as international transactions, travel planning, or financial analysis. e.t.c.

  • Convert All: The primitive facilitates the conversion of a base currency to all available supported currencies in a single request. Customers input the base currency and the amount they want to convert. The API returns a comprehensive list of supported currencies, their corresponding ISO codes, currency symbols, currency icons, and converted amounts. It is particularly beneficial for customers who require bulk currency conversion functionality, such as displaying currency conversion tables, generating multi-currency reports, or managing transactions in various currencies for international businesses.

  • Daily Average: The primitive gives users the daily average of all available currencies for a specific date. It is beneficial for customers seeking an accurate snapshot of currency values on a particular day for financial analysis, risk management, or assessing the impact of exchange rate changes on business operations.

  • Weekly Average: The primitive lets users obtain the weekly average of all the available currencies over a given date range. Customers provide the date range, and the API returns the average weekly exchange rate within the selected time frame. It helps customers interested in tracking currency trends on a broader scale, such as for macroeconomic analysis, long-term investment planning, or evaluating the overall performance of currency trading strategies.

  • Monthly Average: This primitive enables users to retrieve the monthly average for all available currencies by entering the year and month. As a result, clients can gain valuable insights into currency fluctuations and trends by calculating the average exchange rate over an entire month. The calculation is helpful for various purposes, including conducting economic analysis, making informed investment decisions, and evaluating the effectiveness of currency hedging strategies.

  • Margins and Spreads: The API Primitive provides comprehensive information on margins and spreads for 120 financial instruments, including currency pairs, bonds, commodities, indices, and metals. In addition, institutional and retail clients will be able to use it to monitor real-time market conditions. We update the data every 60 seconds.

  • Performances: We designed the Performances Primitive to provide clients with a comprehensive overview of the performance of the most traded currency pairs. This primitive offers valuable insights into various timeframes, including daily, weekly, monthly, year-to-date, yearly, and three-year periods. Understanding the performance of these currency pairs can be crucial for traders, investors, and financial analysts to make informed decisions and assess market trends.

  • Signals: We engineered the Signals Primitive to provide clients with timely and actionable trading ideas, recommendations, or suggestions for the most traded currency pairs—offering insights across various timeframes, including hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly.
